What is Land Division?

Land division is the alteration of the boundaries of land and can be done under Part 19AB of the Real Property Act 1886 or the Community Titles Act 1996.

Land divisions are also known as sub-divisions. There are several different types of subdivisions. The main purpose of a subdivision is to increase profitability; legally distinguish a particular area, and further develop a town or city area. 

The sub-division or land divisions can be done for residential dwellings, as well as commercial lots. The minimum amount of land to be divided in Adelaide is 700 sqm.
